two friends lost a part of their hearts today.
their horse, baby j, was a sweet, beautiful fellow, and at 30-ish years old, quite the gentleman.
back in november, baby j and one of his stablemates, checkers, came to our cousin sam's 4th birthday party to give rides to all of the kiddos. lily thought the stripes across his 'knees' were cool, and eme thought that he was the most awesome horse ever (she was rather fond of checkers, too). on our way home that evening, eme told us that it had been one of the most awesome-est days of her whole life.
i think i can be confident in saying that my friend spends more time with her horses than lots of people spend with their children. seriously. my heart is so sad for her and her family (the four-legged ones, too), and i can't even begin to imagine how much baby j will be missed.
Cathy, I am so sorry for your friend! It sounds like he will be truly missed. I know it would be the awesomest day of my daughter's life as well.

It must have been a fabulous and sweet horse. How wonderful that it got to make one of the best days of Eme's life.
